ADULT SERVICES
ADULT SERVICES:
Adult Services provide services to adults and their families, as well
as consultation and training to businesses and community. Staff serve
clients with funding from individualized fees, insurance or managed care
benefits, Employee Assistance Benefits, Medicaid or Medicare. We work
in conjunction with managed care firms and employee assistance programs
in order to ensure timely and smooth access to services. In addition,
the agency receives funds from the City of Kent, City of Auburn, and United
Way, which assist in subsidizing services to families with low incomes.
Consultation and Education:
Consultation and Education Services are provided to businesses, physicians,
attorneys, religious and community organizations upon request. Consultation
and education services provide individuals and families with enhanced
confidence and fulfillment in functioning within their work place, home,
and community life
Outpatient Services:
-
Therapy Services include goal-oriented and
problem-focused individual, group and family therapy; education and
support groups; and psychiatric evaluation and medication monitoring.
Services assist individuals experiencing stress resulting from issues
such as relationship problems, work place or career concerns, blending
families, single parenting, retirement, and failing health. Therapy
services are provided after determining the individual's needs and
symptoms.
- Adult Intensive Services are provided to those individuals
whose mental illness/symptoms impact their daily lives and functioning
to a significant degree. Services include individual counseling and
a variety of group therapy options. Types of groups offered depend
on the needs of the clients, but may include depression education,
recovering from illness, patterns of self-sabotage, and surviving
trauma.
- Adult Case Management: This service is provided for the acute
and/or serious and persistently mentally ill clients to assist with
basic needs and to enhance functioning in the community. Services
may include housing and financial assistance, links to public benefits,
and developing supports in the community.
- Services for Survivors of Abuse: Mental health services are
available for individuals, especially women and their children who
have been physically, psychologically, and/or sexually traumatized.
Services are designed to assist with recovery and stop intergenerational
patterns of abuse and family violence. Individual and family therapy,
educational and treatment groups have been specifically designed to
help women recover from the traumatic effects of childhood sexual
abuse or domestic violence.
- Adult Addictive Disorder Program: We provide a complete Alcohol/Drug
Assessment (including a Biopsycho-social history), group and individual
outpatient services, pre-treatment and relapse prevention groups.
¨ COD (Co-Occurring Disorder) Program: Integrated treatment for dually
diagnosed clients is provided by clinicians trained in both mental
health and chemical dependency. The individualized care may include
assessment, individual sessions, group sessions, and/or relapse prevention
sessions, as well as ongoing treatment for the individual's mental
illness.

to non-enrolled adults in acute crisis. Next day appointments are
scheduled through the Crisis Clinic. This service offers crisis counseling
and, when appropriate, a psychiatric evaluation for medication purposes.

outreach, mental health, substance abuse, case management and other
support services for mentally ill single adults living in South King
County.

both acquiring and maintaining employment. Program components include:
Motivational Groups, Job Clubs, Vocational Assessment Placements,
Employment Replacement and Retention Services and Past Employment
Support
Domestic Violence Treatment Services:
This is a Washington State Certified Program that provides a minimum of
one year of treatment to court-ordered perpetrators. The program conforms
to program standards as set by the Washington Administrative Code. The
primary focus of this program is on ending the physical, sexual, and/or
psychological violence by holding perpetrators responsible for their actions,
and finding ways to change their behavior. Victim safety is paramount
and is the underlying concern and goal of all treatment. A Victim Advocate
works specifically with victims of the court-ordered perpetrators to provide
victims advocacy and case management services. Treatment for perpetrators
consists of a thorough assessment, as well as education and behavioral
therapy, which are primarily conducted in a single-gender treatment group
setting. These services are provided in English and Russian.
Domestic Violence Victim Advocacy Services:
This program provides advocacy, support, and referrals to any victim of
domestic violence, including safety planning, education and awareness
of domestic violence, as well as assistance with community resources and
relocation if needed. We also provide assistance with a basic understanding
of the legal system and the obtaining of protection orders. For additional
information, contact the Domestic Violence Advocate at 253-835-9975.
