SCORE (South Correctional Entity)
SCORE (South Correctional Entity) is a new sub-regional misdemeant jail created by seven cities in south King County working together to solve their collective jail crisis. The jail, located in the city of Des Moines, manages offenders charged with misdemeanors and collectively represents almost 340,000 citizens in south King County.
Valley Cities and its partners are effectively serving persons with serious mental illness while still in jail and upon release by engaging them in treatment and recovery, linking them to the services and supports they need, and mentoring them to promote successful community reentry and reduce the likelihood of future recidivism.
